Open Doors Day for schoolchildren and technical university students
May 2011
Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant, where the construction of Russian Helicopters’ Science and Technology Complex was recently completed, held an Open Doors Day in May for high-school pupils from Moscow and Lyuberetsky district, and students from Moscow Regional College of Technology.
At the site in the Moscow suburb of Tomilino, the visitors were shown a film about Russian Helicopters including demonstrations of cutting-edge helicopter models. Employment prospects at the company were discussed, as well as opportunities to study at Moscow Aviation Institute. Students were also given a tour of the biggest helicopter ever built, the Mi-12, which houses a museum documenting the history of heavy-lift helicopters, and were shown demonstrations of various helicopter technologies.
The visitors also met the CEO of Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant, Mikhail Korotkevich, and the head of the helicopter engineering department at Moscow Aviation Institute, Yuri Ignatkin.
Russian Helicopters organised the Open Doors Day to attract young people to its businesses, and to help them make decisions about their career and future studies.
One of Russian Helicopters’ priorities is to recruit promising young people and help them to build careers at the company. Open Doors Day is one tool that allows the company to showcase employment opportunities in helicopter engineering and to help students decide on their future professional or scientific paths.
Russian Helicopters offers promising young people who want to work in helicopter engineering the opportunity of subsidised training at Moscow Aviation Institute combined with internships at its businesses — the largest and most advanced in the Russian helicopter industry.
